Angels, valentines, and what??

Today was tax day for this writer girl. We self-employed types pay taxes four times a year and have to estimate them based on our earnings each quarter. When April comes around, we find out how close we were and whether we owe more or are getting an audit. It's always rough to write that check, but today I got a pleasant surprise to soften the blow:

The Vampire Academy series is back on the New York Times Bestseller List!

I confess, the NYT list and its calculations will always be a mystery to me, but the VA series had some of its best sales over the holidays, and those bumped the series back onto the NYT Children's Series List at #7. So thank you so much to all of you who gave the books as gifts or used your gift cards on them! You guys are the best.

And speaking of gifts, if you're looking for a Valentine's gift for your sweetie, allow me to make a suggestion:

A Red Hot Valentine! This is an anthology that my pal Jackie Kessler has a story in about her succubus Jezebel. Note: Jackie writes some of the steamiest scenes of anyone I know, so I can't in good conscience recommend this to my younger readers. However, you should tell your parents to get it for each other. And those of you who are of age should go get it for yourselves. Hot stuff here, you guys!

And while we're on the topic of my author pals, check this out:

My friend Lilith Saintcrow has an upcoming young adult novel. Not only that, she's being published through Razorbill--the people who put out the Vampire Academy series. So, here's the question. What do you guys think of this cover? Weigh in because we want feedback! Be honest, and let us know what you think.
