I was pleasantly surprised to notice last week that Stephenie Meyer--author of the Twilight vampire books--and I are paired in Amazon's "better together" system. Observe:

I have a few conspiracy theories about how this came to be, but I must admit, I'm not really complaining about Vampire Academy being Eclipse's new BFF. Eclipse, just for those who keep track of such things, is currently #2 on Amazon's sales list, right after the latest Harry Potter (which, also for those who keep track, I finally finished last week).
Of course, further examination reveals that like any set of best friends, there's always the prettier, more popular one who gets all the guys. And yeah, that would be Stephenie because when I scrolled down, I saw that 50% of those who view VA still buy Eclipse instead. Then, further examination revealed the following:

Yeah, you like that? Did you want it like that? That's right: if you look at Vampire Academy, you will then go on to either buy one of my books or Stephenie's. You have no choice. We're totally dominating those poor suckers who stumbled onto VA's page.
Of course, I must now ask you not to look at the Eclipse page because the reverse phenomenon is not true, and I will lose coolness in your eyes. Damn it, Stephenie! How come you always get asked to the dance first?
And hey! Speaking of Vampire Academy (release date is Thursday, kids), I give you its first official review here.

Hmm. That reminds me, I never did receive that copy of VA you promised me back in May. Totally slipped my mind. :>
Who's on your icon? I know I've seen him, and it's driving me crazy.

Wow. This feels much like the demonic-eyes moment from Kat's party (raises wallet; pulls out debit card; purchases 14 copies of Richelle's books)
Hmm. I feel like a strange compulsion has just come over me, then passed; and for some reason I CAN'T WAIT to check my mailbox the next few days...
Hmm...
