Wow, guys. I totally let you down this time. Over a month without blogging! I can assure you, though, that it was spent productively. When I got home from my tour, I had to frantically finish revisions on Bloodlines #3, The Indigo Spell. Then, when I finished them, I decided they weren't good enough, and my editor was nice enough to let me do ANOTHER round of emergency revisions. It was a pretty frantic month, but now I have a book I'm really happy with. It still needs a lot of polishing and proofing (which is why it takes a while to come out), but the hardest part is over. You'll also be pleased to know that after these revisions, The Indigo Spell has had its hotness factor kicked up significantly. Hope you guys can handle it.
The book comes out on February 12, and if you're wondering what it's about, here's the catalog description. There's another description kicking around that's worded a little differently, but the gist is the same.
In the aftermath of a forbidden moment that rocked Sydney to her core, she finds herself struggling to draw the line between her Alchemist teachings and what her heart is urging her to do. Then she meets alluring, rebellious Marcus Finch--a former Alchemist who escaped against all odds, and is now on the run. Marcus wants to teach Sydney the secrets he claims the Alchemists are hiding from her. But as he pushes her to rebel against the people who raised her, Sydney finds that breaking free is harder than she thought. There is an old and mysterious magic rooted deeply within her. And as she searches for an evil magic user targeting powerful young witches, she realizes that her only hope is to embrace her magical blood--or else she might be next.
The final cover also was released this last month, and here it is:

From the description itself, the way Adrian and Marcus approach Sydney's worldview seem to be pretty different.
I think there won't be any love triangle. Marcus Finch must be an old man if Clarence met him when he was young. But it sounds like he'll be very charismatic and thought-provoking (I'm not sure if you can say "thought-provoking" about a person, but I hope you get the idea. English isn't my mother tongue).

Lol. Maybe he's another Strigoi-turned-back-to-normal?
Maybe Marcus Finch is another Victor Dashkov in disguise and wants to manipulate her to achieve his own goals. :P Or is that too far fetched?

MAYBE HE IS IN FACT AN ANTAGONIST. Though it sounds to me like Ms. Terwilliger is doing the ~manipulation.
I wish we could know a bit more about what's going on at the Moroi court, and also about Sydney's family. Those things were barely mentioned on the second book.
Well, Terwilliger did trick Sydney into learning magic when she clearly didn't want to. She said it was to fight those who use their magic for evil. She could be lying, though.
I refresh this blog everyday. Sometimes I don't even close the damn window.
That's because I want to know more!! Dear Ms Mead, writer-extraordinaire, please please update the blog more frequently!!!
We're reading every book more than five times before daring to buy the next one. 50 times more, when the next book isn't out yet.
I'm so glad they're released really fast...
My compliments for your success... and please come to Germany one day. And pray tell me if you do. I don't want to have the least chance of missing it.
