My cousin gives you blog material

Arrested Development Quote
It's a blustery night here in Seattle, and I was nearly without material for you yet again. Fortunately, my awesome cousin (whom I've been reconnecting with via Facebook) reminded me of something I'd totally lost track of. William Kenower of Author Magazine interviewed me back in November at one of my signings, and the interview is now online. It got lost in the shuffle of my holiday email, but now I have it here for you.

I confess, while William gave me lots of really great and fun topics to talk about, I feel like I look incredibly serious throughout it all. I seem to be frowning the whole time. I'm not really sure what's up with that, so for those who are going to watch the interview, I wanted to make sure I put this picture up first to remind you that I do smile sometimes. But only when Mario Acevedo's around.

Here's the interview link. Let's hope the Michigan accent is going strong for all those who have been dying to hear it.

Of course they do. I was just teasing. I apologize if I offended anyone.

There's nothing like a Michigan accent. lol
Great video. The ending about plugging on and being consistent was what I needed to hear today. Oh, and I'm so thankful that you do plan to end the series. I love all the series (just finished reading Storm Born, nice!), but it's nice to know that I'll actually have some completed book series in my collection. lol

You sound like everyone on my hubby's side of the fam. I lived in NY with a detour (is 15 years really a detour?) in FLA before living here for five years so far. I prefer Michigan accents over the NY ones I hear on my side.

Being from Michigan myself, I don't notice the accent! Actually, I never understood why people thought that people from Michigan had an accent because I was always under the impression that we talked just like any other!

That was, until I came across this website:

lol I agree. I'm from Michigan too and we talk normal...for us at least. I just moved to TN and now they all think I talk weird.

Wow Richelle, your interview was great!!!! I've never heard you talk before this interview, and I don't think you have that much of an accent. I'm from North Carolina so I have a sourthern accent and I normally think everyone has a different accent from me, well everyone has a different accent, but I really couldn't tell you had one. But anyway, your interview was great and I can't wait for Blood Promise to come out!!!!

P.S. I know you probably don't care, but I have red hair too!!!

204 days until Blood Promise comes out!!!(Thats counting down to the last day of July though, hopefully Blood Promise will be out before the last day)

Writing...
I'm currently a writer in the making. I write so much, and my friends read all my stories and books. They like them, but sometimes I feel like they're only telling me they like it because they're my friends. I don't know. When he asked you which part, beginning, middle or end, was most difficult, I said out loud with you, middle. It is really hard to figure out how to get from that beginning you plan and the end you know you want to happen. That's why my first book drove itself into the ground. I went in thinking I knew what I wanted, but I really only knew the characters, beginning and a vague end. So, I had nothing to write in the middle. Oh well. Now I've finished one book, have one as a sequel, and three I'm writing for fun. That's what I do with writer's block, I start a new story to keep my creative wheels turning, and sometimes the ideas I come up with for the new story work for the old one. Anyway, I can here the echo of a Michigander in that accent, but it's nothing compared to my little brother's Brooklyn accent. He sounds like Harry Potter. It's kind of funny. Anyway, great job on the interview. I think you really captured the difficulties and rewards of being an author. I can only hope that I can feel them too :)

I grew up in extreme northern Indiana five minutes from the Michigan border. Listening to you talk, I don't hear any accent. Does that mean I have a Michigan accent (or I'm just unobservant)? I don't even know what a Michigan accent is... I did have someone tell me once I had a Chicago accent. I don't know what that is either, or if it's the same thing as a Michigan accent. I must investigate further... :-P

Great interview, by the way! :-)

Great interview. When you said that the ending flies, that made sense to me. When I read your books, I always enjoy every part, but when I get near the ending, I can really feel them become something I can't put down =). I am heartily attached to your Succubus Blues series, but I thnk that Shadow Kissed has been your best book yet :D. I haven't read Dark Swan yet, but I plan to, and can't wait 'til your new books come out! :D.

It's kind of heart-warming to see somebody, especially whose writing I enjoy and respect so much, so passionate about what they do.

You do look really serious but not in a miserable, jaded-artist kind of arrogant way. More like you're focused and completely enthralled with what you're tlaking about.
